Berlin: day 1 part 2

After stuffing our faces at Vapiano, we then decided to walk to the Holocaust memorial. Although we had a bit of a detour along the way. We followed the map, but stopped, because we happened to see a building that had a very unique design.
what was inside this building was just as awesome as it looks.
After almost walking by, I looked at the sign, which said that it was a science museum. Of course we had to go inside, and what we found, was amazing. It was not just an ordinary science museum, it was a medical science museum. It was very interesting. Almost everything in the museum was interactive in some way. What surprised me the most was that this museum was not mentioned in any of our guide books, including the Berlin card one, which is updated every year. Here are some of the pictures:

After our fun in the Science museum, we went on to the original destination which was the Holocaust memorial. Its very simplistic in style, very moving, and very eerie. Here are some of the pictures of the way there, and the memorial itself:

After the Holocaust memorial we realized that we were near Brandenberger tor, or as its known in English Brandenburger gate.  So we walked there. It is certainly something to see if you ever are in Berlin. Not only because of its historical nature, but because it is just stunning. Here are some of the pictures:

This was in the same square as the gate... there is quite an interesting story behind why I took a picture of it.
The last picture is the Adlon hotel. Although you might not recognize it, it actually is pretty famous. This was the hotel that Michael Jackson held his baby out of the window at. That was just an interesting fact that we found out.

After all that adventuring we decided it was time to go to dinner. We decided to check out a Mexican restaurant, that the book said was delicious and cheap. We wound up stuffed to the maximum. It was so good. Think of Chipotle, but better. It was just like Chipotle in the way that you build your own burrito, or they also had standard ones that you could choose from. To make it easy we just chose one of the standard ones, but there really was no going wrong. It was delicious, fast, and cheap. Since we forgot to take pictures of that, here are some pictures of the walk there:

After stuffing our faces, we then hurried to try to get to the Altes museum. The reason we were hurrying was because according to our travel book, on Thursdays the Altes and the Pergamon museum, were supposed to be free after six until they closed at 10. Now when we got there, we found out that the book was not up to date. We wound up getting two museum cards, which allowed us to get into almost 60 museums in Berlin for free... well, not for free, but for the price of the cards. It wound up being handy, and anyone spending more than one day in Berlin should consider getting one.  We wound up going to only the Altes museum that night. That was completely alright though, because we were tired by the time that we got back to the hotel.  Here are some pictures from the Altes museum:

This was pretty much the end of day one, as I said before after going through this museum we went back to the hotel, and got some sleep for the next day.
