Its been a while since my last post and a LOT of things have happened. I am first going to start by saying that the two weeks before this last week were really not that interesting, just sitting around, working on my Swedish, and learning to cook.
The week after my last update, nothing really happened, I just tried new bus routes, and learned new Swedish phrases. Nothing that exciting.
The week after that though, we decided that we were going to go grocery shopping for a whole week at once.... big mistake. I think I just wanted our system from home to work so badly, that I was willing to do anything to make it work. even if that meant carrying a weeks worth of groceries 3/4ths of a mile home. I learned that we will NOT be doing that again. Next time, we are just going to get a little amount of stuff, and then go out shopping again when we run out. It was just too much stuff to drag home at once.
During that week that we bought all the food for, we had decided that we were not going to go out to eat at all, and we were only going to cook for ourselves for every meal. We learned a lot through this. We made our own version of chicken fingers, Swedish meatballs and gravy, with potatoes, and pyttipanna (which is a Swedish dish that reminds me of hash, its cubed potatoes and meat). We also made tacos, chili-mac, and breakfast burritos. We learned a lot, and had a lot of fun.
Friday of that week, we went to catch a train back to Växjö, but found out that a train was not available, but that we would have had to take a bus, because they were having power outages throughout the route. So after a bit of waiting, we decided to re-book our train ticket for the next morning. We went home, and were disappointed, and not in the mood to cook, so we just wound up ordering pizza, and watching Veronica Mars.

| We watched Veronica Mars season 1, its a great series that should not have been cancelled. |
We went to bed relatively early that night, because we had to be out of the house by 7:25 in the morning if we were going to make it on time to the train station. We got up, I watched an episode of Spongebob in Swedish, which I must say the voices are actually pretty close to the English version voices. After that we walked to the bus stop, and got on the bus, to the train station. We were there at bit earlier than we expected to be, but that was alright. We were disappointed to find out that the train was going to take a bit longer than expected, because it had to take a different route, but got over it quickly, and just tried to nap. Once we got Växjö, after unloading our things, we went shopping. We got Anton a new pair of Jeans, and seasons 2-4 of The Big Bang Theory.

| We are now the proud owners of this lovely box set! |
After a while of shopping we went back to the house to get ready for fika with Anton's grandpa. A few things that I noticed while I was having fika. I love his grandfathers decorating. He must really like art. I do too. I thought it was very very nice. I also noticed that his grandfather is an amazing baker. All the sweets we had were amazing. I will post a recipe once I translate it, for what can best be described as toffee cake. It is simply divine. I love it. I didn't take a picture, but I wish that I would have. It was so tasty. After fika, we went back home, watched melodifestivalen, and a movie, then went to bed for the night. The next day we waited for Anton's brother to get home from his gymnastics training camp. He was there to learn how to be a leader at gymnastics I think. He is very good at it!
Then, here is the highlight of the weekend. We went ice skating... Now those of you that know me well, know that one of my biggest fears is falling, the next biggest is fish. To think about me... ice skating on a lake, doesn't seem possible. But I did it! and I have video to prove it! Here are some pictures, and video from this adventure:

After skating, we went home, ate dinner, then had to head to the train station. We wanted to get home before midnight, so we had to take a sooner train home than we would have liked. But it was a great weekend!
