Day three. A day for adventuring!

I know that this whole trip has been an adventure, and technically, on day two I had some adventures, but today was the day that felt like a real adventure! We woke up, and ate breakfast, the same thing as day two, but on day three I tried something new. I tried toast with marmalade, and cheese. It sounds like a very odd combination, but the sweet of the marmalade, and the salty of the cheese, worked very well together!

After breakfast we waited for a bit, and took Anton's brother Isak to his gymnastic practice. Once we had dropped him off, was when I think the real adventure began. We went to a castle! I actually went to a castle in my first weekend! We had to try to figure out our way there, using the GPS on the iphone, which, worked, but kind of got me confused. It wasn't until today that I realized that Anton was totally serious when he had said that they had roundabouts EVERYWHERE. literally almost every intersection we came to, was not an intersection, it was a roundabout. It was so confusing. Once we made it to the castle though I was so excited! It was gorgeous! It was amazing that I could go up and touch it! Before going up to the castle though, we noticed that the ice had made some pretty amazing sculptures, and that half the lake that surrounded the castle was ice, and the other was not! Of course, I needed to know how thick the ice was. So I stepped on it... and almost fell in. It definitely was not thick enough to stand on! after looking as all the ice, we walked to the boardwalk, and I realized that I could read the signs, and got very excited! Finally we crossed the bridge to the castle. In my head, I envisioned that we would climb the hill near the castle, and then take the picture from there, because it would make the picture prettier! that was actually a pretty easy hill to climb too.
When I saw it from afar, I knew I could climb it, but the closer I got, the more nervous I got, about if I could climb it or not, and  finally we were there, on top of the hill. It was gorgeous! There was a part of the lake, where the water formed scales. I thought it was so neat! After taking more pictures of the water, we focused the camera on the castle! It was amazing! It had so much amazing work put into it! After a few pictures we decided to go down the hill and take some pictures of me in front of the castle gate!

Ice on the lake.

More ice on the lake.

Ice on a rock. I just thought the ice was pretty!

This... is the castle.

A sign talking about the history of the castle.

These were the signs that I was able to read!

I was on top of the hill for this one. I had just gotten to the top.

the castle from up on the hill.

the ice that looked like fish scales.

the castle again. I feel as though these captions are beginning to get pointless.

The castle gate.

Through the castle gate!

this was a chain, that had ice on it, that just looked awesome!

can you tell that I think the ice was pretty?

Once those were done it was time to head home! In the process of driving we saw three of Anton's former schools. It was interesting to me that they were all so close to his house. I never have lived that close to my school. After a good adventure, it was time to go home. We went home and had a late lunch of porridge. I liked it, it reminded me a lot of rice pudding from home. You can eat the porridge with milk, and it's delicious. It was interesting to me because the porridge came from a tube. That is something I don't ever remember seeing back home, generally anything like it, comes in a cup, or a box. After lunch, I took another nap, and then read a book, until it was time for dinner. Dinner tonight was mangold and leek soup, with hard boiled eggs, and toast with ham and cheese, with a dessert of cheese cake. The soup was amazing, if you are weak stomached, the color might have been a bit off-putting, but it was definitely worth the try. I think what surprised me was you actually put the eggs in your soup, and cut them into pieces and eat them with the soup! It was very interesting, and very delicious! The cheese cake... that is something very different from home too! It reminds me of our cheese cake, with its texture, but the taste is different, and you eat it warm. I really enjoyed it though. It almost reminded me of flan. After dinner it was time to pack up, to get on the train, where I am typing this from right now, so that we could head back to Malmö.

Once we get to Malmö it will be time to go to sleep and get ready for another adventure day tomorrow!
